Ospreyers: Jane and I went down to Point Lookout, MD this morning, 9/8, in hopes that the front that moved through overnight would deposit some migrants. When we arrived there we found that the front was still overhead but moving rapidly east. Nothing unusual though the WOOD STORK persists. At the end of Long Neck Rd. there were 7 BLUE-WINGED TEAL, 2 STILT SANDPIPERS, a SEMI-PALMATED PLOVER and a bunch of peeps on the far side of the pond. There was also a nice falcon flight in progress with 2 MERLINS and 8 KESTRELS. On Friday 9/5, Kyle Rambo reported 2 BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS at the Pax NAS. On Saturday, 9/6, they were still there but to sweeten the deal, there was a WHIMBREL. All three birds were extremely cooperative and fed within 20-30 feet of the road. -- Good Birding! ...and all this science, Tyler Bell I don't understand, It's mailto:bell@say.acnatsci.org just my job five days a week.
