Bonnie, and all, Your posting reminded me of something I meant to report earlier, namely: I saw an imm Bald Eagle circling in a NW direction from the U of Md Central Farm (or whatever it's called) on Folly Quarter Rd, about noon on Monday, Sep 7. This was a bird that was quite mottled black-and-white overall, with the tail and head about 75% white. Maybe there's a family in the county. This was only my 2nd Bald Eagle ever in Howard Co, the first one being the one on River Rd that Karen Skuldt and I found around 1987(?) [I was cruising the U of Md farm, and the turf farm on Rt 32 and what used to be a turf farm, I think, on Rt 99 west of 32, etc, in hopes of more Buff-br Sandpipers (w/o success). Except for the eagle, the birding was pathetic for me that morning.] -- Steve Sanford Randallstown MD tanager@bcpl.net
