Phil et al.,

Jim Stasz and I have been maintaining a running total for the coutnies since
the publication of the yellow book. We have it in a Quattro Pro spreadsheet
that automatically totals the species. I haven't been updating it recently,
but can easily do so. My suggestion would be that we continue to maintain
that list, since it is already set up. Any reports to Field Notes (including
Voice of Naturalist reports, MDOsprey postings etc..) will be incorporated.
MDDCRC review species are only added when accepted, except for the few
exceptions listed in the Yellow Book (i.e. Anhinga in Talbot).

Phil, let me know if that's OK with you. With the maintenance of a computer
file the job can be passed off to anyone at any point.

Best,

Marshall Iliff
