Regards the CBBT Ivory Gull -- the initial report said the bird was Bonaparte's size, whereas Ivory Gull is as large as a Laughing Gull, with a slightly wider wingspan. It is a medium-sized gull, not a small one. The pure white color gives it an delicate look but it is a pretty good-sized, sturdy bird. If the size noted was accurate, then this is probably not an Ivory Gull -- could it have been an albino Bonaparte's? Gail Mackiernan gail@umdd.umd.edu
