I had the pleasure of birding at Wakefield Park with David
Gersten and Elliot and Nancy Kirschbaum this morning. David
and I arrived at about 7:00 and the very first bird we saw
as we entered the powerline cut was an adult male Mourning
Warbler. We also saw a nice Cape May Warbler and Winter Wren
just before Elliot and Nancy showed up. We then picked up
Nashville Warbler and Gray-cheeked Thrush. After David
departed for Snicker's Gap, we took a walk along the west
bank of the creek and picked up a very cooperative Connecticut
Warbler in the same spot I had seen one two weeks ago.
That makes 10 Mournings and 6 Connecticuts for the year
at Wakefield.
