William, The Thayers recordings are very old, I have a copy of the Bicknell's song used in the Thayer recording (its from the Vireo files at Cornell) which date back to 1964 or earlier. (source: National Geographic) It is exactly the same. Differences? You got the upturn vs downturn business, note also the Bicknells is higher pitched and a bit faster in tempo. Kurt kurtcapt87@aol.com
