Hi All:
Another amazing wave of warblers going thru this am. I intended to
watch mainly for hawks, but could hardly ignore the constant parade of
warblers in the cliff side trees right at the point. Talk about a "
birds eye view", seated on the ground 10` from the cliff, on eye level
with all the activity. As I sat, more sp. kept appearing, wish I`d had
more time. In about an hour, I ended up with Palm ( 30+ ), Yellow-Rump (
15, some first fall females in extremely drab plummage ), GC Kinglet ( 4
), Black-throated Green ( 8), Black-throated Blue( 4 ) and Parula( 9).
I am really loving the Petersons Warbler book, paying more attention to
fall plummages than I ever have. Also 2 Red-headed Woodpeckers flying
through the clearing.
