Work and baby-caring are keeping me very homely these days, so when I got
an insatiable itch to see birds, I "escaped" to the backyard during baby
naps and caught the following highlights:

1 Swainson's thrush
1 wood thrush
1 late ruby=throated hummer (prob. juv.male)
2 common yellowthroat (1 male, 1 female)
1 white-throated sparrow (first of season)
1 song sparrow (hit or miss in our neighborhood!)
5 chimney swifts
3 sharp-shinned hawks overhead
30-40 Canada geese overhead
1 yellow-bellied sapsucker (juvenile)
sev. golden-crowned kinglets (heard)
sev. lingering catbirds
~30 Am. goldfinches feasting on salvia seeds

A real mixed bag of warm, cold, and resident birds. I'll have to thank my
daughter for those naps!
