For those fortunate enough to be out on Monday, it was a major day for migrating Canada Geese (as opposed to resident Canadian/American Geese). The flight started in the pre-dawn (when I woke) and continued all day, although it slacked in the afternoon. In six hours of watching at my house in Belcamp, Harford, County, I had almost 500 flocks numbering between 15-240 birds. The total was 18,400 and there were some I heard while I was inside and did not see. There were also two small birds, presumably one of the Arctic races, and 34 Snow Geese in two flocks. The flight continued the next morning, although it was light and I only heard the birds. Rick "Everywhere I go I'm asked if the university stifles writers. My opinion is that they don't stifle enough of them. There's many a bestseller that could have been prevented by a good teacher."
