A beautiful day @ Turkey Point, with clear skies and leaves beginning their show of colours. The Hawk flight was great, the following observed between 9-11 am. Peregrine Falcon- 1 ( Sean got on it first, and nearly choked on his crackers trying to get the words out). Broad-wings- 3 ( 2 imm, 1 mature , seperately) Northern Harriers- 7 Bald Eagles- 5 ( 2 mature, 3 first-2nd year transition) Kestrels- 6 ( all came through very rapidly ) SHARPIES- **62** Coops- 6 Black Vultures-3 These birds were all up close and personal, able to clearly see the beautiful banding in the mature BW tail etc. Hated to leave with such a good flight going, but, things to do.... Also of note on the walk in: Golden-crown Kinglet- 100+ Ruby-crown Kinglet- 50+ Brown Creepers- ** 6, fall arrival Blue-headed Vireo- 1 ( A beautiful bird with its` bold blue-grey cap, prominent white spectacles, clean white throat and yellowish flanks. I lingered on in one spot while the other 5 in the group strolled on, yelling back at me to move because the Turkey Vultures where moving in, so I stand vindicated! ) Bank Swallow- 1 We also met some fellow bird watchers from the DC area who had read about us on the internet, imagine that!!
