Adult females can show quite a bit of blue in the flight feathers. I did not comment because I wasn't positive even though I had once taken a very poor photograph of one. Yesterday I saw another: It had blue wings, rump, tail (I think), and a large white check mark at the base of the primaries. This was very much like the adult, but the blue was not as blue. The rest of the plumage was female-like: The head, nape and back were brown and contrasted with the adjacent blue, the supercilium was white; there was a white crescent under the eye, a light area outlining the lower edge of the cheek and pale underparts with a yellow cast especially across the breast and along the sides.
