Howdy All!
Southern Maryland heads up from Lusby (just beyond
Chesapeake Ranch Estates and Drum Pt off Rt 760). Last evening I
saw a hummingbird fly out of the herb garden in the back yard (I
think it was feeding on the Pineapple Sage which is still
blooming nicely). Unfortunately, the view was too brief for a
positive ID in the fading light.
I'm off this weekend for some R&R and an overdue visit to
family in Ohio. The last time I saw them was in March for 1/2
day while I was en route to a couple Little Gulls up on Lake Erie
and Long-eared and Saw-whet Owls in Western Ohio <grin>. Instead
of _Dream Year_, my mom has dubbed it _The Year that Greg did not
come home_. <hint of guilt> Ok. I plead guilty <smile>.
I'll enjoy the leaves!
