Folks again:
The Casa de San Pedro is indeed nice, but more like staying in a
birder's motel. It's new, well designed and convenient, though not
significantly closer to anything. The San Pedro Inn cottages with
kitchens and living room, as well as large bedrooms deliver a
somewhat different kind of comfort and convenience. There is
interesting birding outside the door and a nice walk through fields
to the riparian area - shrikes, meadowlarks, a number of different
flyctchers on the way to the river, Check out the website, if your
are interested and and chose the one that suits you best. If you
prefer a motel, the Thunder Mountain Inn in town is inexpensive, has
a decent restaurant and is also well located for day trips.
