Hi Todd -- No the birds have not been split, but a lot of us still use names associated with "identifiable" subspecies. So when I was out in Arizona three years ago, it was "Bullock's Oriole" not "Northern" in my trip report, and we still call 'em "Myrtles" unless we see an "Audubon's" (still looking...).
