Barry and I went over to Layhill Park, Mont. Co., again this morning -- the
eastern side with the fields. Many of the birds seen yesterday had moved on,
we only saw about 20 Juncoes, two Chipping, no Palm Warblers BUT we ticked
up two Fox Sparrows, a Savannah and saw the Vesper again briefly (in flight).
A few White-crowns linger, and there was a reasonable complement of Songs
and White-throats (maybe30-40 of each).

We also saw a mini-hawk flight -- in two hours about 18 Red-tails, two
Coopers, one Sharpie and perhaps 25 Turkey Vultures (some may have been locals
but we never see this number normally) spiralled over, heading south. We
also saw two Red-shoulders, but these are probably our local guys. I can
imagine the hawk ridges had a great day!
