Dear Phyllis:

We found a padded cover/carrying case for our Leica scope at eagle
that remains on the scope when the scope is in use. The front and
back fold away from the eyepiece and front lens and tack down to the
cover with velcro. This allows quick cover for protection frm
bumping between uses in the field. It also has a handle and a
shoulder strap for carrying on a plane.

When we travel, I put the heavy Gitzo tripod into a tough
vinyl/cloth case and fasten the carrying straps, that I described
previously, to the vinyl case. It's easier then to carry the scope,
tripod, bags, etc. (and all the stuff hat Greg Miller described).

Best wishes,
Jack Leighty
