It's a great place to bird during migrations. Never been there at this time of year, but the wetland and water environment should have a number of intersting birds. I've walked within a few feet of Sora, for example. In west Akron there are a number of parks. I can't remember their names, but if you have a friend or relative that has difficulty on trails, one of the parks has a ground level viewing window with comfortable seats and a ledge for binocs. During a visit last simmer a Harris' Sparrow, no less, was the main attraction. The Cuyahoga River Valley Park is another possibility. This is the river that caight fire and burned to the bottom a number of years ago. It has been cleaned up and become a nice recreation area. I've even cross-country skied there. I don't have any e-mail addresses there for birding tips. Best wishes for an enjoyable visit.
