Saw what appeared to be an immature Black-throated Green Warbler foraging in the bare trees of my back yard on Sunday afternoon (16.00, 11/22/98). It was an active warbler with a thin bill, flying quickly from branch to branch and tree to tree. The breast was off-white with blurry, dark grey streaks on either side, near the neck. The head was fairly bright yellow with a darker patch over the cheek. There was one thin, white wing bar (did not see a 2nd. wing bar, despite looking carefully). There was no black on the bird. I did not get a good look at the bird's back. Visibility was good (sun at my back) bird at 20-50 yards, at or above eye level. The weather was cool and still. The only other birds present were juncos. Have not seen any other warblers (including Yellow-rumpeds) in my yard in recent weeks. I would be interested in any comments as to whether or not this sighting is too late to be credible. Also has any one has seen BTG's recently, or this late in any other years? Thanks in advance.
