Norm and I also found the pair on Saturday afternoon. They were again in the area by the bridge at the very beginning of the refuge. They stayed fairly close to the shorelines in and around the boat house and pier. At this point in time, there were no other birds nearby. We watched them for quite some time, looking for any indication of escapee behavior. Although they appeared rather tame, they did move away when too many humans appeared on the horizon. The pair stayed together the entire time, drifting here and there very contentedly. I looked specifically for bands and clips, but could not see any on visible areas. Regardless, they made a beautiful pair and we were very pleased to see them so closely. Fran Fran Saunders Silver Spring, Maryland saunderf@ari.net
