Folks, The informal total for the count is in the vicinity of 100 species. The previously mentioned Rough-legged Hawk was the top species for the count. Most of the birders did not join the field until after 0900 due to the heavy rains that fell early that morning. Todd Day and I birded St Mary's River State Park and St Mary's Lake area: boundaries were Md 5, Md 4 and Md 237. Highlights of the sector were Phoebe, Am. Pipits on the big field in the middle portion of Indian Bridge Rd (Md 471), and good sparrow representation with 8 species (incl good numbers of Savannahs and 8 Fox Sparrow incl one flock of 7 individuals).
