Saw the first winter Glaucous Gull at Patuxent Wildlife Visitor Center this a.m., first at 10:30 a.m. The flock took off and reshuffled twice, and the bird was lost. However, Dave (sorry, forgot your last name!) from the Patuxent chapter of MOS relocated the bird at 11:15. No Iceland candidates were seen, despite diligent searching. A handful of rusty blackbirds and common snipe worked the dry bed of Cash Lake (viewable from the blind on the boardwalk down to Cash Lake, the body of water just left of Lake Redington if you look from the parking lot).
