We went over to the Patuxent NWR Visitor's Ctr about 2 pm today -- Sue Riccardi and a number of other Anne Arundel Bird Clubbers were present. They were looking at a first winter Glaucous Gull at the time. Sue said there had been an Iceland and a Lesser BB Gull earlier. We stayed to about 4 pm, by then the Iceland had returned. Lots of gulls milling in and out today. Other birds of interest include a good number of Rusty Blackbirds (we counted at least a dozen and there could have been more) as well as Common Snipe out on drained Lake Cash. We also saw the strange Blue/Canada Goose (??) hybrid with about 200 Canadas on Lake Redington -- color like a blue goose, size and general shape like a Canada but with a somewhat shorter bill and thicker neck.
