Karen Lippy from Hanover, PA asked me to post this sighting: Debbie Boyle first saw the bird on 1/15 around noon. She knew it was "different." Took out her one bird book & started looking. ID'd the bird as a WT, called a local bird store who referred her to Karen Lippy. Karen spent two hours this morning watchin' & watin'. Finally, the bird flew in just as Karen decided it was going to be a no-show. Karen describes the bird as having some red on the top of his head, bright yellow body with prominent wing bars. A green metal squirrel proof type feeder lined up with other feeders behind the house is where the bird has been seen most frequently. Debbie has put oranges & apples on ground & the bird has been seen eating the oranges. Appears that he is also eating holly berries from the trees behind the green feeder.
