The Seneca Christmas Bird Count results are now (finally!) online.

Here are some highlights --
Species: 103 (down from 107 last year - mostly due to missing duck species
and lack of winter finches).
Participants: 115! (up from 102). We recruited a goodly number of new
observers; all reports are that the new people fit in and contributed well
to the effort.
Unusual species: Peregrine Falcon, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Black-throated
Blue Warbler, Wilson's Warbler.
Notable high counts: Pied-billed Grebe (54, vs. a ten-year high of 16)
                      Common Snipe (27, vs. 3)
                      American Pipit (170, vs. 129)
                      Palm Warbler (27, vs. 21)
Some misses on stuff we ALWAYS get: Gadwall, Common Merganser.
