Folks,

I visited the CBC data compilation site and noted that the DC results were
available. I clicked in and ... was I amazed! I did not know such great
birds were spotted on the CBC. Below is a few of the unusual species that
were spotted:

Not one but TWO Chats were spotted! TWO Gnatcatchers. TWO Common
Yellowthroats. SIXTEEN Palm Warblers (where?). TWO Brown Thrashers. THREE
Saw-whets. ONE Selaphorus sp! THREE Oldsquaw, FIVE Surf Scoters, FOUR Brant
and FIFTY Bald Eagles.

I find these species and numbers remarkable. Especially as I have not read or
heard of most of these sightings (such as on MDOsprey or Marvadel or the
Voice). Does anyone out there know about the Selaphorus (a fantastic sighting
for Northern VA/DC in the winter)? Where was it and what happened to it?
Where were the Chats seen? Thrashers?

Thanks.
