Folks,

Cher and I went to Delaware for some personal business and we managed a few
hours of birding. The highlights were 900+ Brant just north of Burton's
Island nr Indian River Inlet, along with a Tri-colored Heron and American
Bittern. Over 30 Purple Sandpipers were on the inlet rocks (south side) and I
managed to spot a single Gannet in the distance. Silver Lake held 500 or so
Canvasback with a half dozen Redheads thrown in for fun. Lots of C. Goose,
Black Duck, Mallard, Shoveler, Ruddys, and Coots on Silver Lake, too. Near
the delapidated nest, 7 Monk Parakeets perched in a front yard tree. On the
breakwater at Cape Henlopen at least 3 Great Cormorants and at least one
Double-crested, perched in-between to show the size difference, were present.
