Hi David,

Thanks for your kind reply.  I would have loved to have seen your Great Horned
Owls last year.  Before I made the post I thought about whether I should or not
and I decided that Great Horned Owls are hardy guys and wouldn't be bothered by
people looking at them from the parking lot.  The only way I figured someone
would harm them was by climbing the tree and that seemed a bit far fetched.  But
as I said, I didn't realize that going around to the back of the tree would
spook the owl.  At any rate, I hope they make it through the nesting season.

I am pretty fascinated by owls.  If you have reliable sites for any, I would be
most appreciative if you'd share them with me privately.  I won't post them, I
promise!  I live in Centreville am out in Loudoun Country a lot but I have only
seen a Barred Owl and a Northern Saw-whet.  Heard Great Horned but not seen out
there.
