My daughter works in Gaithersburg. Last week she saw a very large bird (TV to eagle size) fly into a large nest at the top of a large tree but because she was driving and needed to watch traffic she did not get a good look at the bird. The tree is in a small stand of trees at the SW corner of the intersection of Interstate 370 and Interstate 270. The nest is visible from 270, also visible from the flyover ramp from 370 to Sam Eig Highway. It may also be visible from the rear of the construction site off of Washingtonian Blvd. where a new mall is under construction. If any of you have identified this bird, she would be interested in knowing what it is. Many thanks Phyllis Grimm Reisterstown, MD pggrimm@AOL.com
