I have two pairs of Swift Audubons 8.5 x44. I use to like them very much;
however, they both went out of alignment after about two -three years of
heavy usage. I tried sending them to Swift for repairs, and though their
price for repair was the lowest I have found to date, they were unable to
fix them to my satisfaction.
Later I sent one pair to a place in New York . They did a little better
but still I don't find myself able to use these bins without getting
a headache so I am assuming they are still not quite in alignment. Hopefully
this is just bad luck on my part and is not the case for the vast majority
of Swift owners.
Another possibility is that after buying my Leica's I just can't use the
Swifts because my eyes are spoiled w/ the better bins.
This may be the case... I don't know. However two things would contradict
this idea:
              1. I have a pair of 100 dollar pentax 's that I use
without any eye strain.... these are optically not even close to the Swift
audubons
               2. My dad has a pair of Swifts that I love. I think they
are just shy of being as good as the Leicas

Good Luck
                            William
