Sunday, March 7, 1999; 0810-0950 Mostly sunny, 25 degrees, Winds N 25MPH Most of the turbines were in operation. It was not a good morning to attempt to watch gulls at Conowingo Dam. The viewing conditions were less than optimal. *One flood gate was open concentrating most of the flying gulls in front of it (closer to Cecil County). *Almost all of the rocks near the wall were submerged, hence resting gulls were concentrated on the rocks closest to the Cecil County shoreline and behind the mist created by the open flood gate. *The catwalk was closed due to icing last night, therefore observations had to be made from the Harford County shoreline at distant gulls.
