The other MOS, that is, the Mississippi group, have created a composite state list to record annual sightings by all birders statewide. (Hey, Phil, this is the grandaddy of all ists!) It sounded like a wonderful fun idea that could also lead to sharing of information and encourage the further study of certain species, and so I have boldly copied them and set up a listing on our own MOS site. At the present time only a few modest sightings have been recorded. You are all welcome to add your own, and if someone can e or snail mail me a copy of a hefty budding 1999 list, we'll be in business! All MD birders are welcome to participate. And how many species do YOU think the birders of Maryland can record in any given year?????
