The St. Mary's County, MD Kelp Gull was NOT present at first light this morning, Friday, March 12, 1999, when Tyler Bell and I arrived around 6:15 a.m until I left at about 7:00 a.m. The forecast for today is temps in the 30s with wind chills near zero. There is a small craft advisory in effect. Generally, when it's very windy, the gull is difficult to see because it tends to stay away from the Sandgates area. The folks at the Sea Breeze Restaurant have offered to give updates. You may call them at 301-373-5217.
