Howdy All!

Favorite Warbler Spots? Lots of 'em!

On a national scale in Spring:

Crane Creek St Pk near Toledo, OH (my all-time favorite)
Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge (next to Crane Creek)
   Pt Pelee, Ontario
   High Island, TX

Local to Ohio where I grew up (Spring):

Mohican St Forest near Ashland, OH
Killbuck Wildlife Management Area in Holmes County

Local to Tulsa, Oklahoma (used to live there):

   Turkey Mountain
Red Bud Valley (I still miss the Painted Buntings in Spring)

Maryland/DC:

Montgomery Co (used to live there):

   Rock Creek Park
   Violets Lock / Hughes Hollow
   Little Bennett Regional Park
   Seneca Park

Southern Maryland (used to be there, too):

   Calvert Cliffs St Pk
   Jefferson Patterson Park & Memorial
   Pt Lookout

Baltimore Area (where I'm at now):

Waiting to hear all the best spots...

My best Spring warbler spots are still in Ohio. I travelled there in mid
May, 1997 (previous to the dream year) and was in Northern Ohio for 3 1/2
days. I saw 172 species of birds and had 33 warbler species! What a great
trip! Actually, I've visited Western Lake Erie every year in May since
1980 (except for last year when I was on Attu). This year in mid May, I'll
be looking forward to meeting many of you at the MOS Conference.

BTW, did any of you see the latest RBA from Mississippi? The WARBLERS are
moving--half a dozen species already reported from the Biloxi area! I
can't wait! I've got WARBLER FEVER in bad way!
