Congrats on a lifer!  Good job with the photo equipment and getting
an identifiable result...er...something I'm still working on.
<grin>

     So, where's the best place to go to see Rock Sandpiper ?  I
     just "have" to see one now.

Attu or Gambell are the most fun to see--on their nesting grounds and
bobbing up and down ridiculously and giving their incredibly loud whirring
call notes.  It's a great spectacle.

In winter they range from the SE coast of Alaska to Northern California.
They are increasingly difficult to see the further South you go in the
Lower 48.  Best bets are the rocky coasts near Seattle/British Columbia.
They occur regularly on the hotlines.
