Dear Osprey Folks, My name will prob. be unfamiliar to many of you, as I've been more of a lurker. I am finally moving from the DC area to Austin TX (:->) in 8 days. This is something I've been wanting to do for a good while. Some of you who were at the MCC/MOS Social heard my little farewell speech. But many folks were not there and I really wish to thank you ALL (MOS-ers or not) for posting, and keeping my birding knowledge somewhat up to date. (Haven't done as much actual birding as I'd like in the past yr. or more. Mostly minor medical circumstances have kept me in more than out, but the relocation to Austin will, I hope, fix some of those problems.) I've especially enjoyed some of the questions posed... First, I wish to thank Norm and Fran Saunders for all the work that I can only imagine goes into maintaining this listserv. From the Osprey's Nest BBS to this format, they have always provided a wonderful and useful resource. I've been so pleased that Norm has let it remain a friendly, free-form kind of thing, which reflects so accurately how I feel about them too. And I wish to thank the many folks who post to or just read the MD Osprey with whom I've been aquainted, who have been birding friends. I've really appreciated your generous sharing of birding info. As I became familiar with some of you only through your posts, I began to hope I'd eventually meet the faces behind the words! To keep this post short (hah!), I'lI just say I will miss you all! Once my husband, John, and I are re-situated, I'll surely check in w/the Archives periodically. And if things work out as we hope and we finally have a house, maybe some of you will consider visiting us in Austin! My current email address should be good for some time, even in TX. I wish you all unexpected surprises along your birding trails. With much affection and appreciation, Julie Kelly mailto:jfkelly@ibm.net Kensington, Maryland
