I had one connoisseur who only accepted the FIFTH seed he >chose. In my yard in Southern Maryland, I've had a few Carolina Chickadees eat out of my hand, as well as Eastern Bluebirds, but none of these experiences can compare to the Pine Warbler that showed up on March 8 at my window feeder. It thinks nothing of eating out of my hand! In fact, it will eat two mealworms while perched on my thumb, sometimes trilling as it swallows and then fly off with a third. His presumed mate, watches from above and if a mealworm falls to the deck, she swoops down to pick it up. She is now brave enough to come to the window feeder herself but is wary, as she should be. I've got this documented in photographs on my web page <http://www.nestbox.com/intro.htm>. You might enjoy the seeing the photos. ///////// Arlene Ripley | || Calvert County, MD | 0 || aripley@nestbox.com | || http://www.nestbox.com ||
