Phil I just got a message from Larry Line about the Franklin's Gull at Captain John's. I read it before I saw your message. I was off yesterday sick but would have chased this report. Franklin's Gull has never been documented in Charles Co. Thanks for sending the information along. I will look in the am. I am at work and can't leave today. A Franklin's Gull in Charles County is a "reviewable" species. It's in review category 5E ... 5E. These species with restricted ranges in Maryland: Franklin's Gull Areas other than on the coastal plain west of the Chesapeake Bay (including the Susquehanna River up to Conowingo) from Anne Arundel and Prince George's counties north. Did you happen to take any field notes or photos of the bird? Or ...even more important, did you call "Mr. Charles County", George Jett? FYI.
