Because many of you have been debating over whether or not the boat-tailed 
grackle in Upper Marlboro should be reported, I thought I should fill you in 
on the full details I noted to Phil Davis.  

The boat-tailed grackle was seen while driving along the road and no field 
notes were taken.  It was identified by being noticably larger than company 
of grackles it was with.  We did not even stop because we were on an exit 
ramp and thought nothing of it at the time.  Sorry, but I don't believe there 
is sufficient evidence to document it.  Technically it could have been a 
Great-tailed Grackle.  So it should be noted as large grackle sp.  Just 
wanted to clear that up for everyone.
