Hi All: My first Chipping Sp. of the season returned " home " on the 7th. Nice to hear those trills again. This morning I heard the cause of all the alarm calls before I saw it, a big COOPS cruising through on the look out for a snack. I was disgusted to see a stinkin` ***##!! house sp. trying to stuff its` fat self into the 1" entrance to a nest box being guarded by a pair of distressed chickadees intent on setting up house. I hope the sp. give up and that my little friends will prevail. Last year, their eggs were ruined by invading house wrens. All the reports of incoming warblers are KILLING me, as I`ve given priority, for the moment, to getting a jump on our landscaping/naturalization project. This work does give me a lot of enjoyment as well though. Leslie Fisher Cecil Co.
