On April 10th I went to Huntley Meadows and Leesylvania SP in Fairfax =
and Price William Counties, VA, respectively. I saw the following birds:
at Huntley:=20
1 Pied-billed Grebe
1 Gadwall
4 Wood Duck
2 Blue-winged Teal
1 King Rail (2 others calling)
20 Chimney Swifts=20
50 Tree Swallows
4 N. Rough-winged Swallows
1 Ruby-crowned Kinglet
1 Palm Warbler (Yellow)
1 Savannah Sparrow (occasional in the park)
1 American Woodcock=20
4 Rusty Blackbirds
=20
at Leesylvania:
3 Northern Parula
1 Lousiana Waterthrush
1 Winter Wren
1 Hermit Thrush
3 Palm warblers (all Yellow)
3 Yellow-throated Warblers (1 of them white-lored)
20 Greater Yellowlegs
5 Lesser Yellowlegs (both yellowlegs along Neabsco Rd.)
=20
I saw 66 species today.
