Those of us who joined the intrepid Carl Van Doren for a WBC-sponsored walk to the falls this morning were treated to a saucepan* of Broadtails, a pair of Caspian Terns headed downriver, both of the fledglings on the Eagle's nest, lots of Cormorants, two Spotted Sandpipers, and amazingly aggressive displays of Mongolian neck-wrestling between Mallards competing for the attention of a single female. Beyond that, lots of other expectable stuff for a total of 53 spp. David Strother Bethesda, Maryland dstrother@pop.dn.net * tr. = a small kettle ....... ;^b
