Hi All: A brief stop at the Elkton Industrial Park on Rt. 40 this am gave me my first **Prairie Warbler of the year. Field Sp. were numerous and singing. 4 Brown Thrasher also gave voice. At home, I enjoyed a rest on the deck and surveyed my " kingdom " while sipping on my Cold and Flu hot drink. ( Don`t you hate being sick this time of year, or any time for that matter. ) ** New yard bird- Savannah Sp, preening and taking a wet leaf bath in a wild cherry tree, then flew over to the adjacent hay field. A robin amused me in its` monopoly of a bird bath- thrash around, perch, shake feathers and call, repeat, repeat. It was finally satisfied after the 3rd repetition and sat in a maple giving itself a beauty treatment. I was also admiring a White-throated sp. of the white-striped form, in what looked like mint fresh plummage, a real handsome fella. The nesting Chickadees are safe as yet from returning House Wrens.
