I'm a birder and environmental writer who has been contracted to write a
couple of small books on backyard birds by a publisher without a lot of
money.

The publisher is also looking for photos of:
"backyard" birds (common species, uncommon visitors, etc.)
bird feeders (with and without birds attached)
bird houses (commercial, homemade, unique, empty, occupied)
landscaping for birds (bird-friendly plants, brushpiles, bird baths, etc.)
children birding

They're looking for slide pictures, preferably. They will only pay about
$20 per shot, for one-time rights. That means you can republish the
pictures elsewhere without a problem.

Basically, this will only really appeal to people who take pictures for
fun, not profit. But if you or anyone else is interested in having one of
your photos published in a "real book!", please reply to me directly at:

If I met you at this weekend's VSO meeting and already talked to you about
this, apologies for the repetition.
