Barb, I couldn't agree more! The new guide, at first glance, appears to be a major improvement over an already good 2nd edition. It's easy to pick and quibble over this and that with any field guide, but I've been hooked on the National Geo guide now since the first edition came out! I bought mine at Borders, by the way.
