Hey Daryl: Red-banded Hairstreaks become increasingly common as the year progresses, but there seem to be more early season sightings than usual this year. It's a species that has gone from rare to common around here over the last couple decades, so this year's spate of early sightings may be part of the long-term trend. Bird-wise, had a wonderfully cooperative GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH (not looking at all Bicknell's-like, whateverthat's worth) on Saturday in the parking lot of the Rock Creek Nature Center, DC> Kate or Daryl wrote: > > Is this the time of year for Red-banded Hairstreaks?
