It was a pleasure to hear my surprised gasp mingle with others' at today's Southern Maryland Audubon Society annual membership meeting, when MOS President Norm Saunders presented a check for $1,900 to the riparian restoration project that was "adopted" by MOS at its annual conference held in Southern Maryland in May. MOS continues its support of the Southern Maryland area, after its super conference held here. Though Tyler and I were only here for one event, we hear the conference was a true success. And we surely want to thank MOS for the surprise award presented to us at the opening night's banquet. The representatives of the Sea Breeze were delighted by their commendation, and Tyler and I were simply floored by ours. Since we were leaving for two weeks' vacation the next day, we doubly thank you all for re-arranging the schedule so we could be there. (And, yes, we did get the Kirtland's Warbler, singing on territory in Mio, MI, on a park service tour on May 16.)
