The St. Mary's County, MD, Kelp Gull still is showing up at the Sea Breeze Restaurant, though not with any discernible schedule (that is, not at any one given time of day or day of the week or climatic condition, and never when I pop in to see it!) In summary, the Kelp Gull has been seen: June 8 most of the day (per manager) June 9 not seen (per visiting PA birders who spent most of the day there) June 10 off and on all day (arriving after the PA birders left for home) June 11 seen in the morning, per manager June 12 seen in "the evening" per Sea Breeze staff (we were busy seeing Little Egret in DE!) June 13 off and on all day, except in the morning when we took our visiting company by to see it June 14 seen 7:30-9:30 a.m. by MI birder on his second try; Kelp Gull was at both Sea Breeze and Sandgates piers. June 15 gull there all day and in to evening hours, per manager June 16 gull showed up around 4:15 p.m. (and wasn't there when I got there at 5:40-5:55 p.m.) Jane Kostenko jkostenko@somd.lib.md.us California, Maryland Yesterday is history.
