Paul, In my experience, in the proper habitat, they (Acadian Flycatchers) can 
be "common" (found on every field trip) around here. Not in great numbers 
mind you, but still not what I would call difficult to find. Perhaps this is 
ANS's way of warning us about a birds vulnerability because of loss of 
habitat before it becomes truely scarce?
 I think the Montgomery county checklist still lists it as common for this 
season, though I don't have the checklist in front of me...
