Ruff-seekers and successful Ruff-viewers;
A late afternoon check today of Easton Wastewater Treatment Facility, 3:30
to 4:00 p.m., yielded no sign of the Ruff. I believe he has moved on, and
will not be checking again unless there is word that he has returned.
For the facility staff, I reaffirmed the appreciation of local birders for
the fine cooperation provided. The people I spoke with were:
Mollie Faulkner
Pete Welty
George Roth
These three were the ones answering our questions, directing people
towards the right roads and ponds, and getting approval to be open for
weekend visitor hours. The Talbot County Chapter has had a long history of
good relations with facility staff, and their willingness to cooperate has
been demonstrated again. If anyone was able to obtain a good photograph of
the Ruff, a copy to the facility staff would be greatly appreciated. Their
