Gail, I've checked the Meherin River location for Mississippi Kites three times this year without luck. However, time of day and weather may have had a lot to do with it. The first two times I went it was around noon. The third time I went was early morning, but it was pouring rain. Last year I found the pair of kites at this location one day in July, around 6 or 7 p.m. I've also tried Huntley Meadows a couple times without luck. Guess I'm destined to go kiteless this year!
